After years living in this terraced house with a small rear yard in Fulham, our clients needed more space, both inside and outside. Our solution involved the complete rebuilding of the C19thcloset wing at the back, making the steelwork for a side return economic. This gave additional space with a full width kitchen dining room. But this strategy also provides a much needed 25m2 roof terrace on the top with a new flat roof, decked in cedar. Importantly, since the roof terrace would not have been permissible under ordinary planning constraints, this was all possible within Permitted Development Rights.
