Asked to create a new room at the rear, our solution was a simple and economical ‘box’, with the side return of the main house transformed into a micro courtyard. The view out to the garden is the main event, with floor to ceiling fixed glazing, and solid dark stained timber doors. Internally european oak floors with under floor heating combine with exposed lime rendered walls. A ‘living roof’ of sedum plants, which flower pink in the spring, is the icing on the cake.
